Minecraft Build Contest

By Tayson Jorgenson

It’s a new month, and the JPJ Journal is celebrating with a new contest! However, rather than a photo contest, we’re doing a Minecraft Building Contest! Here’s the basics: You will need to submit a Minecraft Build with a medieval theme.

  • All buildings must be made on the PC Edition of Minecraft, with the 1.9.2 Edition Update.

  • You must record the whole building session in a format that can be uploaded to YouTube (file.mp4, file.wav…etc.)

  • Any Redstone machines will not be accepted. We want architecture.

  • Any blocks other than barrier and command blocks can be used.

  • Any inappropriate figures built are not allowable, and you are immediately disqualified if you build one, even if you remove it.

  • No video editing!

  • Commentary with a microphone is encouraged.

  • You have a 5 hour time limit to build your structure.

  • You must submit the world folder along with the video. If you don’t know how to get the folder that contains the world data, follow this tutorial: http://www.howtogeek.com/207484/how-to-find-your-minecraft-saved-games-folder/

Submissions: Submit a link to your YouTube video to jorgetay000@my.jordandistrict.org  Entries will be accepted from midnight on April 12 to April 30.

Winners: 3 winners will be selected. The winners will have their videos published with background music in the video on jpjjournal.wordpress.com and receive individual prizes!
